Presentation: Modelling morphology evolution for a PP in processing (=very complex) conditions
Roberto Pantani graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1995 and received the PhD degree in 2000. He is full professor of Transport Phenomena at University of Salerno (Italy), Dept. of Industrial Engineering. Currently, he is the Head of the Department.
His main research interests focus on the analysis and simulation of injection molding, of structure development in polymer processing, of mechanisms of cooling stresses development, of volume accuracy and stability during polymer processing, of processing and degradation kinetics of biodegradable polymers. In 2015, he received the prestigious Moran Lambla Award of the Polymer Processing Society.
He takes part in several research projects, in many of them as PI, and collaborates with companies and research centers involved in polymer processing on the optimization of polymer processes, choice of materials and biomaterials, polymer characterization, improvement of the properties of the produced parts and their stability with time. He is the author of 2 patents, of about 100 publications on international peer-reviewed scientific journals, of 5 book chapters and of more than 100 publications on proceedings of international conferences. He is in the Editorial Board of 3 international journals and is the Editor of 4 special issues. Hs h-index is 24 (Scopus, November 2018).
